Blooming Minds sign on as Major Sponsor for 3 Years

Updated: Jun 11, 2024

The Sandgropers are proud to announce that Blooming Minds have signed on as our Major Sponsor for three years, as part of supporting the Franchise at the 2024, 2025 and 2026 Tournament.

Blooming Minds, which was established in 2006, provides customised mental health and wellbeing training and consultancy services throughout Australia to assist organisations to understand the impact of mental health problems in their workplace and to minimise the human and economic impacts of employee stress, anxiety and depression.

We hear about mental health and mental health conditions a lot these days. But we don’t really think about it until we, or someone close to us, experiences mental health problems. There is a continuum of mental health:sometimes we are emotionally well and healthy, sometimes we experience mental health problems and sometimes mental illness.

All of Blooming Minds’ programs are designed to support an organisations existing EAP service. The courses do not train people to be diagnosticians or therapists. Instead, they teach employees and supervisors how to manage psychosocial safety and minimise the human and economic toll of mental health issues while meeting their legal obligations around psychological health and safety.

1 in 5 Australian adults will experience a mental health condition every year. Blooming Minds will help you support your employees mental health and wellbeing.

Blooming Minds owner Tasha Broomhall said “We are excited to partner with the Sandgropers and to help the Board and players create a culture of mental health and wellbeing.  I am an advisory Board member of Clear Air Sports which is Australia’s only community that facilitate sporting programs that focus on human connection for the sole purpose of enhancing mental health, well-being, camaraderie, physical health, and pure enjoyment. A significant body of research now clearly supports the mental health benefits for individuals and communities of physical movement with our mates. Our partnership with the Sandgropers is part of our commitment to supporting real world activation of evidence-informed principles for good mental health”.

The Sandgroper Board remarked “Over 50s Cricket and veterans’ cricket in Australia plays an important part in the mental health and well-being of cricketers.  We have seen first hand the impacts of mental health issues on our colleagues, friends and family and being active and playing sport and the camaraderie that comes with being part of a team is critically important to men and women’s mental health.  This partnership will be excellent not only for our Franchise but the opportunities available to all of the Franchise owners to champion mental health and well-being at the tournament”.

“I am thrilled to see our franchise owners engaging with organizations that prioritize men's mental health. The partnership between the Sandgropers and Blooming Minds is a significant step towards fostering a culture of mental health and well-being within our cricket community. This collaboration not only benefits the players but also sets a powerful example for the entire tournament. Mental health is an essential aspect of our overall well-being, and initiatives like this demonstrate our commitment to supporting our players both on and off the field.  A 3 year commitment from a Sponsor for one of our Franchises is an outstanding outcome for the event." - Anthony Telfer, CEO of Spirit of Cricket Global.
